Code of Conduct
The Mailinglist of the Digital History Network Switzerland deals with digital history in a broader sense and aims to facilitate the exchange between the historical sciences, memory institutions and informatics. It is open to all interested persons.

What is a mailing list?
A mailing list or discussion list is an e-mail application that allows a group to exchange messages by e-mail. Subscribers to the mailing list can send messages to the e-mail address of the distribution list. From there, the e-mail is forwarded to all other subscribers. These thus form a closed group that exchanges information. Within group, the e-mails are public.

What messages can be sent through the list?
- Announcements (events, projects, tools, publications, articles, job offers, podcasts, datasets, etc.)
- Questions (about methods, programmes, research topics, etc.)
- Feedback requests
- Search for contact persons, experts or partners
- Exchange of experiences, feedback
- Opinions and comments

In which languages can the messages be sent?
The contributions can be written in German, French, Italian and English.

Is the mailing list moderated?
Yes, the contributions are checked by the administration team before publication. TThe moderation of posts usually happens within one working day. Replies to posts are published directly. Replies to posts are published directly.

How often are the messages sent?
Subscribers to the mailing list can choose whether they want to receive the contributions directly or as a weekly compilation.

Are the messages archived?
Yes. Contributions that are sent to the list will be automatically archived. The searchable archive is only accessible to subscribers of the mailing list. -
Legal information and privacy policy

Upon registration for the free mailing list, your data will be sent electronically to the administration team.
The data collected in the course of the data processing for subscribing to the mailing list will not be passed on to third parties. The data will be used exclusively for the administration and sending out of the mailing list.

Purpose of the data processing
The collection of the e-mail address serves to send e-mails to the subscribers of the mailing list. The collection of further personal data as part of the subscription process serves to prevent misuse of the services or the e-mail address used.

Duration of storage
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. The e-mail address of a subscriber is thus stored as long as the subscription to the mailing list is active.

Possibility of objection and removal
The subscription to the mailing list can be cancelled by the subscriber at any time. For this purpose, a corresponding link is included in every e-mail sent via the mailing list. This also enables the withdrawal of consent to the storage of personal data collected during the subscription process.

Code of Conduct
The Digital History Switzerland mailing list aims to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for all. We invite all subscribers to the mailing list to help us provide positive experiences for all. Messages sent to the list must respect the different views and experiences of subscribers. Hostility, insults or discriminatory content will not be accepted. You can inform the administration team if you think a message is derogatory and should be deleted.
Subscribers to the mailing list who do not comply with the Code of Conduct may be temporarily or permanently banned from the mailing list by the administration team. The enforcement guidelines of the Contributer Covenant Code of Conduct apply.
This code of conduct is based on the Citizen Code of Conduct, which is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike-Licence. The privacy policy is based on the guidelines of the association DHd - "Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum".
